The year 2025 has been a great one for Paige Bueckers. Not only did she win the NCA Championship, but she was also the top pick in the WNBA Draft, won the Rookie of the Year award, and was among the top 10 players for primary stats in the league.
Although these were her on-court achievements, the former UConn star also shone off the court, bringing a huge fan base for the Wings. Bueckers was even in the New York Times’ Most Stylish People of 2025 list. Now taking her talents back on the court, she will be attending a training camp at Duke University for the USA senior team, where she spoke about her new coaches.

Paige Bueckers Opens Up On Team USA Coaching Staff
Kara Lawson has taken a bold step involving all the young stars in the new team. New faces include Caitlin Clark, Beckers, Kiki Iriafen, and Sonia Citron, who played at the international level earlier. But now at the senior team, the youngsters will get a chance to learn from the best coaches in the league. PB talked about the same and praised the coaching staff.
“Huge fans of all them. I think they’re really bright basketball minds…they’re very prepared, very disciplined…they have a lot of insight…I can’t wait to learn from them,” Bueckers told the reporter.

Geno Auriemma Backs Paige Bueckers To Start for Team USA
After winning the NCAA Championship, there were huge expectations from Bueckers to deliver similar ‘magic’ for the Wings team. However, the team finished last in the standings with just 10 wins for the season. Paige Bueckers also opens up about her tough transition to life with the Dallas Wings, despite her rookie success.

Despite this, decorated NCAA coach Geno Auriemma backs the star guard to start for the side. He mentioned that PB is mature enough for the side and could be a natural successor for Sue Bird, who led the national team to four gold medals.
It will be interesting to see who will start for Team USA, given its multiple-talented and experienced side.
