With Unrival getting a lot of attention lately, some doubt it as the WNBA’s direct competitor. But there’s no such case as of now. Another league that could make big bucks rolling down the streets is Ice Cube’s BIG3. And it is recently getting linked to Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese for one more time.
Clark and Reese have seen their fair share of ups and downs after joining the women’s pro league. However, like most of the social media critics, Ice Cube put the two rookies one against the other. But this time, with a rather controversial take on paying them differently.
Ice Cube Drops Controversial Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese Take
After spending four highly successful years at Iowa, Caitlin Clark got a $5 million contract offer to join the BIG3 league. Like how it turned out, she made the right choice to put down the tempting offer and went on to enter the WNBA Draft. The Fever cashed in the opportunity to draft her as 1st overall pick in the 2024 draft.
However, just a year and some time after this, BIG3’s Ice Cube dropped a rather bold take on offering the huge sum to the now Fever rookie. According to him, he doubts that he could have offered a similar deal to the Chicago Sky’s Reese.
“I don’t know if we can make that same offer,” the rapper said via TMZ Sports.

Though he might doubt if the Sky rookie could deserve something around a $5 million offer from an alternate league, Reese proved him wrong. She is having one of the most phenomenal runs with the camp and showing no signs of slowing down after a successful first season.

Additionally, during their first seasons in the WNBA, both rookies made major impacts. Reese almost set a rebounding record while Clark is attracting a larger number of fans to watch the game in person. Other than this, the two are hit with somewhat similar upsetting news.
Caitlin Clark And Angel Reese In The Mix With Injuries
The WNBA fans were long happy and excited as they marked their calendars for the epic Fever-Sky showdown. Their excitement was cut short as Indiana announced Clark was sidelined for a significant time due to a groin injury. And there’s no clear official statement on the her return to the court.

To make matters worse, Reese was ruled out hours before the game due to a back issue. It’s a tough break for fans hoping to see these two rising stars showcase their talents once again. As per the latest update, the Sky have shut the rookie for their upcoming game against the Fever. Fans would wait for the next big chance to watch them go face-to-face later this season.
