Whenever a WNBA schedule is announced, the dates for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever’s games are marked. That has been the case since 2024. The fan following is not only growing, but also providing other franchises with more fans day by day.
The impact was noticeable, and recently, the Liberty vs Lynx mega matchup also saw a massive rise in views. Former player and now analyst Rebecca Lobo was ecstatic and praised CC and her team for making this possible.
Rebecca Lobo Laud’s Caitlin Clark and The Indiana Fever’s Impact
Well before the new media deal kicks in (effective in 2026), the WNBA delivers numbers for the broadcasters. According to records from the first 56 games, the league is pulling in an average of 794,000 viewers. That’s a huge 21% surge from last season. Stephanie White’s side is the frontrunner in this, with 1.26 million averages in its 19 games.
Since the franchise already had some record viewership last season, the rise is 7%, which is still a significant one considering the numbers. The WNBA Finals rematch, the Lynx vs Liberty game, on July 30, peaked at 1.1 million views. Applauding the rise in views, analyst Rebecca Lobo shared a post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter)
She wrote, “Last night’s presentation of the ’24 @WNBA Finals rematch (Liberty at Lynx) was the 3rd most watched non-Indiana regular season game ever on ESPN. Averaged 788K, peaked at 1.1M. “(It’s OK to acknowledge that Fever games are in a class of their own when it comes to TV ratings.)”
The comment itself once again highlights CC as the face of the WNBA and living up to the hype created before she entered the league.

The broadcasters also prefer the Fever games more, televising 41 out of 44 regular-season games, a feat not even NBA superstars achieved in their careers.
No Return Schedule Yet For Caitlin Clark
Amid all this hype and popularity, fans still wait for the star playmaker to return to the court. She missed five straight games for the third time this season. Even though the team managed to cope with her absence, they hardly dominated the games.

HC Stephanie emphasized giving CC enough time to recover ‘fully’ to keep her fresh and fit for the postseason. But having her on the bench for a longer period would impact the plays and offensive flow a bit.
There is no schedule for the 23-year-old guard’s return yet. And fans are anxious to know more about her status update. Meanwhile, the Fever team will be on a four-game road trip starting with a game against the Dallas Wings on August 1.
