Rebecca Lobo has been one of the prominent names in the WNBA circuit. Although her professional career lasted only six seasons, Lobo’s stint as a color commentator has been widely appreciated.
Expressing a strong voice on all things, Lobo recently slammed controversial referee calls in last year’s Fever-Wings clash.
And while her commentary has always delighted fans, the latest development is sure to make the fans feel gleeful. Lobo will be extending her stay with ESPN for a long time.
Rebecca Lobo Extends Her Contract With ESPN
The former UConn star started her journey with ESPN back in 2004. And since then, it has been 13 seasons that Lobo has been delighting the fans with her voice as a color commentator.

Thankfully, as per the recent reports from The Sports Business Journal, Lobo has signed a contract extension with the sporting giant till 2030. While the exact details of the contract are not available, Lobo sounded elated as she reflected on her journey.
“I have loved calling women’s college and WNBA games for ESPN the last 20-plus years,” Lobo said. “It’s an honor to be a voice of this sport and to witness some of the greatest performances in the history of the game from a courtside seat. Working with Ryan Ruocco and Holly Rowe is a joy, and I appreciate ESPN’s continued commitment to me and the women’s game.”

Surely, such an achievement only adds to Lobo’s long list of accolades. She led UConn to a stellar 35-0 season and got recognized as the Naismith Player of the Year in 1995. And while she has been an active critic, Lobo recently gushed over Caitlin Clark’s influence on the game.

Heaping praises on the Fever star, Lobo said, “Last night’s presentation of the ’24 @WNBA Finals rematch (Liberty at Lynx) was the 3rd most watched non-Indiana regular season game ever on ESPN. Averaged 788K, peaked at 1.1M. “(It’s OK to acknowledge that Fever games are in a class of their own when it comes to TV ratings.)”
