Sabrina Ionescu has been in the news for her impressive performances on the court. She was one of the biggest reasons that led the New York Liberty to their WNBA title in 2024. However, as the offseason is underway, the 28-year-old made headlines off the court, too. Last year, the 4-time WNBA All-Star created a buzz following her linkup with Kim Kardashian.
She also came into the news following a burglary at Ionescu’s house that saw $60,000 worth of handbags get stolen. Thankfully, it appears as if the bad days are finally getting over for Ionescu. In a recent development, the Liberty Star received a major honor from California High School.

Sabrina Ionescu Gets Gym Named After Her
Ionescu was always a dominant athlete. Back in her school days, she was one of the best talents in California. Now, as more than a decade has passed and the 28-year-old is a star, she is getting some huge recognition from the California High School.
According to reports, Miramonte High has named its gymnasium after the Liberty star. This decision came following a petition that garnered over 500 signatures for the cause. With the announcement coming in, the school justified the move as a gesture of honoring someone who has been a global icon.

How Did Sabrina Ionescu Help Oregon Win Against The USC Trojans

The 28-year-old spent four seasons with the Ducks. And while the team provided her the launching pad towards success, she recently showed her class by firing up her former team to victory.
Back in January, Ionescu attended a game between the USC Trojans and the Oregon Ducks. Till the halftime mark, it was the Trojans who were in complete control. Looking at her team struggling, the 4-time WNBA All-Star decided to give a pep talk.
Reflecting on the same, head coach Kelly Graves said, “She kind of lit the kids up a little bit at halftime. It’s really funny because she said the exact same thing I wanted to say. I gave her first crack at it, and she walked in, and I was thinking, ‘Damn, [Sabrina], I would have said the exact same thing.’ It was good to have her here on a night like this.”
Thus, with Ionescu adding more feathers to her crown, fans will be eager to find out what’s next.
