Just like most other major US sports, basketball is deeply rooted in culture, and that culture has a significant impact on the sneakers.
Similar to the likes of Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant, Sabrina Ionescu also has Nike shoes named after her.
As per one of the latest reports, the New York Liberty veteran is carving out a space in the sneaker world, where her signature shoes are catching on with NBA pros.

Sabrina Ionescu Ranked Alongside Kobe Bryant In Latest Nike Tally
In Nike’s latest tally from Kix Stats, Ionescu’s Sabrina 3 and Sabrina 2 sneakers cracked the top 10 most-worn shoes in the NBA for November.
Interestingly, her pairs logged 3,395 and 2,657 minutes respectively. This puts her at sixth and tenth on the list, a rare feat shared only with Kobe Bryant, whose three models dominate the top three spots.
Nike holds nine of the top 10 positions, with Adidas’ Harden Vol. 9 as the lone outsider. However, the Sabrina 3s have all the good points that make it a perfect shoe.

It particularly stands out with its lightweight upper and cable lockdown for secure, agile movement, plus a durable outsole suited for various courts, something that’s perfect for quick guards.
Meanwhile, the Sabrina 2 focuses on endurance, using Cushlon foam and Air Zoom for comfort during long sessions, inspired by Ionescu’s gym-rat work ethic.
NBA players are buying in, with Jrue Holiday sporting the Sabrina 1 in 53 games last season and hitting a career-high 43.5% from three, crediting the shoes for his boost.
Even Stephen Curry joined the trend, wearing the Sabrina 3 in a game against the Jazz, ending his 12-year Nike drought and praising it.
Stephen Curry Names Sabrina Ionescu After Under Armour Split
Curry’s choice to rock Ionescu’s Nikes ties back to his own brand shifts, including an earlier attempt to bring her into his fold before she stuck with the Swoosh.
After parting ways with Under Armour, Curry revealed he tried recruiting Ionescu to his Curry Brand while she was still at Oregon. He admitted it was a tough sell, joking that it’s “hard to get an Oregon Duck to leave Nike,” given the school’s deep ties to the brand.
Ionescu, a Bay Area native and standout Duck, chose Nike post-college, launching a signature line that’s now on its third model and selling strongly.
This wasn’t Curry’s only WNBA recruitment miss. According to some reports, Under Armour also failed to land Caitlin Clark, a factor in its split after 13 years. Now a sneaker free agent, Curry has been mixing brands, from Jordan retros to Li-Ning, while still using some Curry gear in games.
