The New York Liberty is on a roll. Sitting in the second position on the table, Liberty recorded yet another victory. Beating the Dallas Wings 88-77, New York further consolidated their position as a contender. And Sandy Brondello is pretty much stealing all the limelight for herself.
Brondello has been one of the most sought after coaches in the league. Winning the title last year, the 56-year-old further strengthened her status as a shrewd mentor. And to extend her legacy further, she is on the brink of a rare milestone.
Sandy Brondello One Step Away From Franchise Record
Liberty’s win against the Wings was a special one for Brondello. After all, this was her 100th win while leading the team. And with it, the 56-year-old has now tied for a rare franchise record. She is now on level pegging with Richie Adubato.
However, when comparing their records, Brondello seems to hold a slight edge. According to records, Adubato completed his 100th win in his sixth season. On the contrary, Brondello is only in her fourth year. Surely, she is on the brink of becoming the coach with the highest wins soon.
“It’s a great organization to be coaching for. To get 100 wins, this is my fourth year, it means I have a pretty good team, we’ve been winning. A lot more wins to go,” Brondello said (via New York Post).

Sandy Brondello Criticizes New York Liberty
Facing the Dallas Wings last back in July, the Liberty succumbed to a 92-82 loss. Surely, this was a hurtful sight to reckon with for Brondello. After all, they had the likes of Sabrina Ionescu and more to guide them. Naturally, the 56-year-old coach had some difficult words to share.

“Complacency and slow starts, among other things,” were Brondello’s main points of discussion.
Surely, it goes on to show how much Liberty’s head coach is involved. Now, with the team playing well, the fans are expecting yet another championship run. However, only time will tell whether it will come true or not.
