Even though the UConn Huskies couldn’t lift the NCA championship, Sarah Strong remained one of the brightest stars in the season and swept all the possible awards for the power forward position, including the Katrina McClain award.
Her all-around impact and performances made the selectors’ choice easier, as she led the charts across most stats with high efficiency. When asked about the role of her mother, Allison Feaster, in her game, the 20-year-old gave heartfelt praise.

Sarah Strong Credits Her Mother For Her High Standards
UConn Huskies forward is the daughter of former professional basketball players Allison Feaster and Danny Strong. Her parents, who met as basketball players and formerly played in Spain, provided intense, early training that fueled Sarah’s rise to elite college basketball.
Answering the question, the UConn star said, “Yeah, I mean, I look up to her so much. Aside from basketball, she is just a great mother. She is like my sister, I call her every day to see how she is doing but I just love her and appreciate her through my journey. I wouldn’t be here without her honestly, … I LITERALLY wouldn’t be here without her.”

Sarah Strong’s Mother Opens Up About ‘Difficulty’ Of Parents
WNBA star Sophie Cunningham kept a close eye on the NCAA games and even gave her honest opinion on Lauren Betts. In a recent episode, she hosted Strong’s mother, Feaster, on her podcast, Show Me Something. They discussed how anxious it makes ‘the mother’ to watch her daughter “do her thing” with the UConn Huskies.
“We parents like to think that we have some magic word we can say to activate something in our children, but no, powerless. And also positively optimistic that they’re gonna put their best foot forward… and that is easier said than done. We get caught up in hoping that we make the right decisions along the way.” Feaster said.
