Close to the WNBA 2025 Season wrap-up, names for the Unrivalled league roster were out one by one. Many new stars joined the 3-on-3 league, including the Phoenix Mercury’s dynamic trio Alyssa Thomas, Kahleah Copper, and Satou Sabally. Using the Unrivaled as an example, Sabally urged the league to increase player pay.
She even criticized Adam Silver’s “too personal” comment on WNBA CBA negotiations. While the player was excited to return to the Unrivaled after shining in the first season, her health impacted her participation as the league announced her absence for an indefinite time.

Satou Sabally With Cryptic Message Following Unrivaled Exit
Sabally was injured during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals against the Las Vegas Aces. She couldn’t play in the immediate game as per the WNBA concussion rules. But the 27-year-old was part of the Unrivaled season 2 roster, which was scheduled for January 5.
Sadly, the concussion aftereffects forced her out of the Unrivaled season 2, as the league shared news on social media. “Due to lingering symptoms from a concussion sustained during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, Phantom BC’s Satou Sabally will be out indefinitely and will be reevaluated at a later date,” Unrivaled said in a statement. Sabally quickly shared the announcement on her story and wrote, “In due time. God speed.”

Satou Sabally Finding Peace With Phoenix Mercury
The superstar forward was a key player for the Dallas Wings but moved to the Mercury team in unexpected circumstances. Later, Sabally shared the real reason behind requesting a trade from the Wings and how she found the perfect team in the league.

Playing her first season with the Mercury, Sabally earned an All-Star selection, which was her third overall selection in her six-year career. But she missed that game due to an ankle injury.
