Angel Reese’s absence did cost the Chicago Sky dearly after all. The Sky, who were struggling to find their rhythm this season, suffered a pivotal blow. With a back injury flaring up, their best performer, Reese, was forced to be sidelined. And as they faced off against a spirited Seattle Storm, things took a grim turn for the Sky.
Angel Reese’s team lost the game with the scoreline reading 95-57. And this was not enough, Chicago further got red-faced by a rookie. With Seattle’s 19-year-old rookie creating history, the Sky looked helpless.
Dominique Malonga Makes Her Basketball Skills Do The Talking
Dominique Malonga was like a bolt from the blue on the hardwood. Elevating her game to an elite level, Malonga dropped the best performance of her life. She scored 14 points on the night along with 10 rebounds. Incidentally, this was also a career-high for Malonga. However, en route to such a performance, the 19-year-old achieved something truly historic.
At just 19 years and 250 days, Malonga is now the youngest WNBA athlete to record a double-double. Liz Cambage held the previous record, which she achieved at 19 years and 290 days. Adding to her splendid night, Malonga also became the youngest to reach 100 points in WNBA history.

Meanwhile, speaking about the game, the Storm had their usual star taking the limelight as usual. Skylar Diggins accounted for a whopping 21 points, as the Storm rode on her brilliance to floor Chicago. They also had one of the best second-half performances so far. Scoring 56 points, Diggins and co. ensured that the Chicago Sky did not have a chance to claw back into the game. Meanwhile, the loss puts the Sky in a precarious position. Lacking team chemistry, they would look forward to having Angel Reese back as soon as possible.
