The Seattle Storm locker room has been taken by storm. Starting the 2025 season, the Seattle outfit was touted as a potential contender to challenge the Minnesota Lynx. Unfortunately for them, the All-Star break came as a curse. Ever since returning to action, the Storm’s graph has been plummeting. As a result of such consecutive poor performances, the Storm is having some heated feuds inside the locker room.
Seattle has now lost six games in a row. Their most recent defeat came against the Atlanta Dream, where they faltered by a score of 75-85. But all of the poor displays on the hardwood might have a completely different underlying cause. While taking a deep dive, the unrest inside the locker room seems to be the root cause for such a catastrophic slump for the Storm.
Seattle Storm Is In Serious Trouble As Locker Room Fiasco Gets Public
In a recent move, Storm acquired Brittney Sykes from the Washington Mystics. In return, they sent Alysha Clark, Zia Cookie, and a 2026 first-round pick. However, in a shocking turn of events, the trade of Clark now seems to have a dark underlying story. According to Mystics Beat writer Kareem Copeland, Clark herself requested the trade in order to avoid the locker room controversy.
Copeland further mentioned on his post on X, formerly Twitter, that Clark stated that she wanted to have more game time and be of use to her team. Thus, she requested that Seattle make the move and send her to Washington. Surely, this was a shocking revelation. To further illuminate the matter, Off The Record WNBA reporter Christan confirmed Copeland’s earlier statement.
“Can confirm Kareem’s reporting on Alysha Clark’s trade request. According to multiple sources, there were verbal altercations in the locker room with teammates that also led to the trade request,” wrote Christan (Via X/ChristanWNBA)

Now then, with all the drama going on, one thing is clear. The unrest is severely affecting the team’s performance on the court. And as they cling on to the last playoff spot, things might soon go haywire if the players do not step up.

Seattle Storm Desperate To Clinch The Final Playoff Spot
The Seattle Storm jumped to fourth place on the WNBA table at one point this season. But having lost six in a row now, they paint a sorry picture. With 16 wins and 17 losses, the Storm is clinging to the eighth spot. This could be dangerous, as any further slip will mean that the team will bow out of the season without making the playoffs.

Only last week, after they lost five in a row, the Storm were just 1/2game above the Sparks. Thus, with the team in such a critical juncture, the players need to come together and bail the team out. However, with their locker room woes wreaking havoc, fans would be eager to see how things pan out in the near future.
