Angel Reese finds herself at the center of yet another social media storm. The Chicago Sky star and a cultural icon has been catching stray with the internet fans lately.
Ever since she rose to the scene, Reese has had to speak up for herself on social media. But this time around, even if she goes on to acknowledge it, the allegations are a little deeper than expected.
It’s been months since she started her podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel.’ However, social media doctors have now flagged her for buying what is called bot views in the social media lingo.
Is Angel Reese Really Buying Bot Views For Unapologetically Angel on YouTube?
The Sky, along with Reese, were kissing in all directions most of the past season. Though they had all the valid reasons to make a bet on a WNBA championship ticket, the story went south.

Despite the busy schedule that the WNBA players had in past seasons, Reese still managed to debut her podcast. But lately, critics on X (formerly Twitter) have accused her of inflating views on her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast using bots, pointing to a suspicious spike in YouTube analytics.
Having studied YouTube analytics for the past 9 years, I can say with 100% certainty she’s either botting views or purchasing views via YouTube advertising

The claim references a graph showing views jumping from 73K to 221K between October 31 and November 5, 2025, alongside thumbnails of episodes like “Knowing Her Man Was the One in Tears.”
The user suggests artificial inflation via YouTube ads, a tactic some creators use to boost visibility, though no concrete evidence, like IP anomalies or ad spend data, was provided.
But the world we live in is too quick to adapt and too humble to reject any trend. One after the other, fans started making stories around the matter.

Reese, who launched the podcast in September 2024, has seen its popularity soar with her 5.2 million Instagram followers, but rapid view spikes can raise red flags. YouTube’s algorithm favors engagement, and bot views could explain the trend if true.
Angel Reese Details Skipping Unrivaled
While the allegations around her podcast views would go around for some time, Reese recently announced her Unrivaled absence.
“That was the goal for this offseason… Quietly minding my business so everybody won’t mind MINE,” Reese wrote while reacting to a fan’s tweet.

This hints at a mental health break after a tumultuous 2025, where a back injury limited her to 30 games and a Chicago Tribune interview.
Reese also hinted at a potential Sky exit if the roster doesn’t improve, which then sparked controversy and a half-game suspension.
Though her wrist injury was a factor, her need for respite after media scrutiny outweighs the $150K+ Unrivaled paycheck.
