It is said that opportunities often do not come more than once. And the Chicago Sky is learning it the hard way. Having a dismal season this year, the Sky has been struggling. Despite fireworks from Angel Reese, the team as a whole has failed to click. After falling to the Indiana Fever, the Sky had yet another sorry outing against the Washington Mystics. Losing 103-86, the Sky slumped to their sixth straight loss of the season.
Angel Reese, as usual, was the standout for Sky. Returning from a two-game back injury absence, Reese dropped 22 points and 13 rebounds on the night. However, the limelight was clinched by Mystics’ Sonia Citron. And her Chicago connection left the team crying over spilled milk.
Sonia Citron’s Mistake Comes Back To Haunt Chicago Sky
Sonia Citron led the way for the Mystics, dropping 28 points on the night. Right from the start, she looked fluid in her approach and clinched 19 points in the first half itself. She also delivered an impeccable 10-of-15 shooting, making sure that her team got over the line comfortably.
Now, as Citron made the headlines, it is worth noting that she had a strong connection with the Sky. Back in the 2025 WNBA draft, Mystics acquired the 21-year-old as the No. 3 overall pick. Interestingly, the pick was initially owned by the Sky. But they traded the same prior to the draft in return for Ariel Atkins.

Surely, following her incredible success, the WNBA realm is abuzz about how costly a mistake it would turn out to be. Especially when things are not going well with Sky. With 19 losses and just 7 wins, Chicago is struggling at number 12. Meanwhile, with the team struggling, Tyler Marsh had some surprising words to share.
Tyler Marsh Hopeful Despite Chicago Sky’s Losing Streak
Sky faced their fifth straight defeat against the Indiana Fever. And while the performance once again came as a disappointment for the fans, coach Tyler Marsh seemed to be quite hopeful. After the game, Marsh praised his side and stated that they will not give up.
