Sophie Cunningham has been around the WNBA realm for a long time now. However, it is only after she joined the Indiana Fever that she gained some traction. Her on-court aggression instantly made her a fan favorite. And now, as the year is coming to an end, it looks like the Fever star’s popularity is skyrocketing.
Google recently published its Top 10 athletes’ searches list for 2025. And quite surprisingly, Cunningham made it to the list along with Cooper Flagg and Shedeur Sanders. Surely, this was a huge achievement for the 29-year-old.
After all, Cunningham was the only name from the WNBA to be included in the list. And quite expectedly, she was all very happy and gleeful about the same.

Sophie Cunninham Has A Funny Reaction About Her Recent Accolade
After making it to the list, Cunningham had an epic reaction to her selection. However, speaking in a recent episode of the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, the Fever star further delved into the matter. While explaining her feelings, the 29-year-old termed herself a ‘late bloomer.’
“I really don’t know how to feel about that. I mean, it’s kind of cool, I guess, like you’re the only female up there. So that was pretty cool, but there is no real feeling towards it. Does that mean I am a late bloomer though? because if I am on my second contract, it takes a lot more for people to know who I was,” Cunningham said.

Now then, soon after the list was out. Fans looked pretty surprised. They were confused to see that Cunningham made the cut ahead of someone like Caitlin Clark. And while it is of immense significance, the ‘enforcer’ recently shrugged off the competition.
Sophie Cunningham Drops Honest Confession About Toppling Caitlin Clark
Ever since joining the Indiana Fever, the friendship between Clark and Cunningham has taken over the internet. Recently, the duo was also spotted enjoying golf at the Annika Pro-Am. Once Cunningham toppled Clark in Google’s Top 10 list, questions came in rapidly, trying to get Cunningham’s reaction.

However, despite the honor, the 29-year-old did not seem to have a rivalry with Clark of any sort. “But there’s no real feelings towards it. People want to know more about me. I mean, yeah. But I’m sure last year [Clark] was probably No. 1, right? She blew up in college… this is just this year,” said Clark.
