After the season ending injury, fans would presume that Sophie Cunningham will be taking time to recover and might attend the Fever gams to show her support. But the star is active again. Hours after the injury she shared a post on social media hyping up the star performer Kelsey Mitchell and congratulating the team for the win.
Then, the next day, she was on her Podcast, Show Me Something. Her Podcast received a massive response from the fans as the unfiltered Cunningham opened up on multiple topics that were constantly running in fans’ minds. In the recent episode, she shook the listeners with her third fine story.
Sophie Cunningham Reflects On Her Third Fine From The WNBA
The former Mercury star is famous for talking her heart out and, most importantly, standing up to her words. The star received $500 fine for posting a TikTok mocking referees and later $1500 fine for criticizing the inconsistency in foul calls on her Podcast. While the first episode handed her fine, the later one also got her in trouble.

This time it was for her comments on Paige Bueckers. In her third episode, the star praised the rookie and was narrating on court incidents where she received fouls, which were not supposed to be called as per the forward. The league once again took the statement as negative comments towards officiating and fined the star.
“I’m officially 3 for three on being fined by the WNBA. They didn’t like my comments on Paige Bueckers. I didn’t even say anything bad. It’s insane,” Cunningham said on the Podcast.

One thing is clear: the league is closely monitoring her every word and looking to shut down any contradictory sentences that put them in a bad light. For the star, it’s once again a chance to gain a bigger fan following. Her on-court altercation during a game against the Sun earned her the Fever fans’ respect and a few endorsement deals, and now her fiery statements are also attracting more fans.
Sophie Cunningham Shows Love For Bria Hartley
In the Podcast, the 29-year-old star also reflected on the foul on her and also on Bria Hartley, who received a massive backlash from fans and Cunningham’s family members for the foul. She mentioned that it was not intentional and she still shares good relationship with the Sun guard.
She even addressed the tweet shared by her mother, which directly targeted the player. The Fever player explained the moment to her mother and asked her to delete the tweet. She also asked fans not to give Hartley a hard time for the event.
