Sophie Cunningham is one of the most popular WNBA stars in modern days. Following her addition to the Indiana Fever squad last year, her popularity skyrocketed. Especially after her close bonding with Caitlin Clark. However, following the conclusion of the season, the Missouri-born has been garnering some steady eyeballs.
Recently, the 29-year-old hinted at a reality show stint if the WNBA season did not begin. However, as the WNBPA and the WNBA are trying to find a middle ground for the CBA negotiations, the Fever guard decided to give her fans a sneak peek into her personal choices.

Does Sophie Cunningham Date Men Shorter Than Her?
Cunningham has never been the one who shies away from putting forth her opinions. For example, she recently issued a 30-day ultimatum to the WNBA. Meanwhile, apart from speaking her mind about the WNBA, the 3x First Team All-SEC also reflects on her personal life choices often. Likewise, in a recent discussion on her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, the 29-year-old star gave out some dating advice.
During the show, one fan asked the Fever star about what exact quality was needed to impress a taller girl. Well, standing at 6”1’, the fan thought that the Missouri-born must be the perfect person for the question. Unfortunately, the WNBA star was into shorter men.
“I don’t think I’m the right tall person to ask, because I could never date someone shorter than me. Because I’m already big. So, I want someone who is going to make me feel smaller,” said Cunningham.

She further added, “But there are so many guys who have taller girls! I think people have really good energy, and I love so many people. I just can’t, I would just feel like the man in my relationship.”
Now, this was quite a clear-cut indication of who should approach the star basketballer. But this was not the only time Cunningham has spoken about dating.
Sophie Cunningham Lists Traits Of ‘Red Flag’ Men

In a recent interview with ‘Complex,’ the WNBA star answered some questions about how to identify a red flag in a person. Surprisingly, she had quite a long list. First up, she gave a clean chit to men who put their cellphones on ‘Do Not Disturb.’ Next, she pointed out the ones who had a girl best friend.
And that was not all. The 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Champion stated that somebody who puts his phone facedown would be considered a genuine red flag.
Thus, it seems like Cunningham has some serious dating knowledge. Meanwhile, apart from this, the fans will be hoping to see the 29-year-old take the basketball court by storm.
