When Caitlin Clark got injured, a lot of fans thought that the Indiana Fever’s graph would plummet. But despite the 2024 Rookie of the Year missing significant game time, the Fever is still a strong contender for a playoff berth. One of the chief architects behind the same is Sophie Cunningham. Ever since joining the Fever, the sturdily built athlete has been a fan-favorite. And now, she is spreading inspiration while owning it on the court.
One of the biggest highlights of Cunningham’s play is her aggressive defense. With a tall frame, she is one of the toughest defenders in the league. But does that mean the 28-year-old is missing out on fashion? Well, not at all. In fact, the Fever star has recently shared how she is embracing her unique build.
Sophie Cunningham Wants To Use Her 6’1” Frame As Inspiration
Female athletes have often been confined to height, body type, and appearance expectations. However, the 28-year-old has thrown all those orthodox concepts out the window. Despite being a tall, well-built athlete, Cunningham is spearheading her fashion game. She also wants to channel the same inspiration within the younger generation.
In a recent video posted on social media, Sophie Cunningham shared that she has to face a lot of difficulty regarding her physical build. However, the former Missouri Tigers star also added that it is important for everyone to embrace their own body. The Fever star also noted that, according to her, fashion should be something that she wants to look confident in.
“It’s not always easy being, like, a 6’1″, 160-pound girl. Like, let’s be honest. My shoulders are wide, and I look like a brick. But you know what, I embrace that. And I think that’s super cool for other athletes to come in here, young boys and girls to see, like, whoever you are, just be confident in that because that’s going to be your biggest superpower one day,” Sophie Cunningham said.
Cunninham also added that she chooses to have fun while being comfortable when it comes to fashion. Most importantly, she never stresses too much or gives too much attention to her style game. Meanwhile, as the 28-year-old looked to top her style game, a bikini clip with Lexie Hull drew a hilarious reaction from Caitlin Clark.
