The ongoing CBA discussions are irking fans and players who want to be on the court with some definite deal in place. Many players once again targeted the league for its intentions and delays. Sophie Cunningham also warned that the WNBA CBA stalemate is heading toward a lockout, with zero progress reported since the last extension expired.
But now the player went forward and questioned the possibility of the 2026 season only. She was direct and also critical in her short answer.

The Fever star handed fans a chance to ask questions to get to know her better. She is also following up with those questions and answering them one by one. In one of the questions, a fan asked the versatile player about her 2026 team.
Though she is one of the top free agents in the league, there is a lot of mystery about everyone’s new sides. But the player took the opportunity to slam the CBA negotiations and wrote, “waiting to see if we will even have a season.” She shared on her Instagram stories.

Cunningham earlier emphasized that she doesn’t plan to sign until the current negotiations for the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) are in place. But she added 3 Arts Sports for representation in WNBA career and beyond.

A fan asked former Missouri stars’ career choices outside basketball. Though the player signed a deal with Project B, outside of basketball needed a specific alternate career choice. The player came up with a brilliant idea, showcasing her talent before locking singing as her preference.
Responding to the fan’s query, Sophie posted a clip as a sample of her singing and wrote, “I wanna do one duet with a country artist just ONE time and then my life with my complete. I’m not a pro by any means and v average but I just think it’d be fun!”
