The Indiana Fever fell one overtime win short of their second Finals appearance. Many lauded their resilience and grit shown on the floor. While the players already had the hunger and fire to prove themselves on the floor, an incident that ignited the ‘on-court’ involved Sophie Cunningham and the entire Connecticut Sun team.
While the 29-year-old became an instant hit amongst the Fever fans, and with the player recently talking about his debut in WWE, Nikki Bella called out Cunningham for a special match. Though that chapter cooled off, Dana White’s recent actions again connected her with in-ring actions.

Dana White Appreciating Sophie Cunningham’s Bravery
UFC President knows a thing or two about marketing and is regular in the public eye to promote his upcoming events. He pushed the UFC to new highs and struck many lucrative deals for the events.
Recently, he posted a video with similar intentions, but fans noticed his T-shirt featuring Sophie Cunningham’s photo, in which the Fever forward is giving the middle finger.

While the player became famous for her on-court shuffle in a game against the Sun players, she backed herself for the actions and said, “During that, it was just part of the game. I think the refs had a lot to do with that. It was a buildup for a couple of years now of them just not protecting the star player of the WNBA. And so, at the end of the day, I’m going to protect my teammates.”
Some fans might consider Dana White’s actions as the former Missouri star’s possible entry to the fighting pit. But the star has her eyes set on a post-WNBA career.
Sophie Cunningham Ready With Her Future Plan
With the free agency uncertainty looming around the 29-year-old star, the player is already talking about a post-WNBA career. Though she still has six to seven years of basketball action guaranteed, for the 2026 season, Caitlin Clark has urged Cunningham to re-sign with the Fever. In a recent episode of her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, the forward reflected on what she would do after retirement.
“I would love to coach, but I also think I want to get married and I want to have a family. The life of coaching is not so ideal for all that. So there’s that. I’d love to do broadcast. I would love to be in the entertainment space. So, who knows?” said Cunningham.
The player had small gigs with appearances on the Good Morning America show, and fans loved her hosting. The following is also increasing for her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast.
