Joining the Fever this season, the 28-year-old has instantly become a fan favorite. And while her performance on the court is one reason, Cunningham’s ‘enforcer’ tag has attracted fans even more. Back on June 17, when the Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun clashed, tempers flared. Especially, Caitlin Clark had to face bullying. That prompted Cunningham to rise to the occasion, coming to the aid of the face of the WNBA. Surprisingly, in a recent prank from a fan, the 28-year-old got to sign a Sheldon rookie card. And the former Missouri star owned the situation like a boss.

Cunningham’s popularity with the fans has gone through the roof lately. With her aggressive antics on the court going viral, fans have become more eager to buy her jerseys and other merchandise. And all this attention has caused her social media presence to receive a significant boost. As a result, Cunningham now has a whopping 1.2 million followers on Instagram. So now it seems, it was quite natural that during the recent meet-and-greet with the Fever stars, the 28-year-old would turn out to be the center of attraction.
And while she was busy giving out her autographs, one fan decided to get mischievous. Cunningham was handed a Jacy Sheldon rookie card for signing. Immediately, the WNBA star broke out into laughter. And then, she simply went on to write, “Property Of:” followed by her signature. Now, for the uninitiated, this was a hilarious move as Sheldon and Cunningham share some significant bad blood.

In the June 17 clash, Sun players continuously fouled Clark. However, at one particular moment, Sheldon poked Clark in the eye. And this was enough for Cunningham to transform into her ‘enforcer’ avatar. She immediately committed a hard foul on Sheldon, which eventually led to her ejection.
Interestingly, Fever and Sheldon’s current team, the Washington Mystics, will face off on August 15. Now, with Cunningham teasing the rivalry further with her message on the rookie card, fans are anticipating another heated showdown between the two.
