In recent times, the WNBA has been enjoying elevated visibility. And making full use of the same, a lot of the players are trying to venture outside of the league to build themselves a brand. Take Angel Reese, for example.
In one of the most significant achievements, Reese earned praise from WNBA players for her Victoria’s Secret debut. And while she is looking for more such opportunities, the likes of Sophie Cunningham, too, are following suit.
The Indiana Fever guard had already expressed her wish to walk as a Victoria’s Secret model. And now, while she is in the middle of her MCL recovery, Cunningham is all set to make her ‘Good Morning America’ debut.
Sophie Cunningham’s Coming To Good Morning America Will Boost WNBA’s Visibility
Cunningham has been pretty busy since Fever’s exit game against the Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals. She traveled from her Missouri home to Arizona. And while she was in Florida, enjoying a short holiday trip to the beach, the ‘enforcer’ has now traveled to New York City for her ‘Good Morning America’ appearance.

As per reports from The Athletic’s Scott Agness, the Fever guard is set to go on air around 7:30 am CT on the ABC morning show. And Cunningham will not be alone. She will also have political journalist Jonathan Karl and cooking writer Vaughn Vreeland.

Surely, this will be a big moment in Cunningham’s career. And as Cunningham leads the charge for a fair share of revenue, it will be interesting to see whether the topic comes up during her interaction on ABC. Meanwhile, coming back to her on-court shenanigans, the Fever star will be looking to get herself fully fit before the next season. However, en route to recovery, Cunningham has dismissed a food allergy report from her doctor.
Sophie Cunningham Unwilling To Follow Food Sensitivity Reports From The Doctors
The 29-year-old had quite an impressive debut for the Fever. In fact, she also put up some serious numbers to back up her reputation as a star player. Cunningham had 46.9% shooting from the field and 43.2% from the 3-point range.
However, as she is recovering, the Fever star was presented with a new food sensitivity report. According to Cunningham, the report stated that she was allergic to dairy products.

But the 29-year-old had a hilarious reaction to the same. “I’m like allergic to or not allergic, highly, highly sensitive to, like dairy, beef, pork, pineapple, rice, seaweed any type of cheese. But I don’t believe in that. I don’t believe in this test to be honest. No, I know it’s not. It’s not. Like, I think it’s just like the es and flows. Like, I don’t I don’t really know what it is, so it is what it is. I’ll be fine. But at least I have Arby’s now. Put a little beef in me. Not allergic to Arby’s,” Cunningham said on her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast.
Surely, with her rehab ongoing, fans will be expecting her to attain optimum fitness before the next season starts. But will she be re-signing with the Fever? That will be the big question going forward.
