The Indiana Fever team has a big dilemma, right from the expansion draft to the WNBA draft. With many player showing their worth in the 2025 season, the front office would love to have the same lineup for the upcoming season, but it all depends on the CBA deal and players’ availability. Their forward, Sophie Cunningham, warned that the WNBA CBA stalemate is heading toward a lockout.
Though there are some positive signs on the CBA front, the deal is not yet final, and with the season starting from May 9, the franchises will have very little time to make their moves and add players to start training. Amid this packed schedule, Cunningham came up with a thoughtful gift for the staff members.

The player is a free agent for the upcoming season and has shown her alliance with the Indiana franchise from time to time. Cunningham was even courtside during the Indiana Pacers game, showing her support for the team on multiple occasions.
And now she handed out a bottle of Silver Oak wine to every Fever staff member as a surprise, thanking them for their service. “I’m surprising kind of everyone who works so hard behind the scenes this offseason with some Silver Oak wine,” Cunningham said before handing out the gifts.

Was this a farewell gift from the 29-year-old player? Certainly no. Even though Cunningham’s future is uncertain following the Fever front office’s protection player list predictions, the player received a huge plea from Caitlin Clark.

During the 2025 season, CC and the former Mercury star came even closer and shared a strong bond. Even though neither player could complete the entire season, their impact on the court was evident. In recent social media activity, under one of Cunningham’s TikTok posts, Clark wrote, “Time to run it back.”
Showing love for the request, Sophie gave a playful response: “Only if you cuddle and make me dinner twice a week.”
In 30 games played in 2025, Cunningham averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steals. She clocked in for 25.2 minutes in a game and shot over 43% from the range.
