Many counted out the Indiana Fever in the playoff series, right from the first round. The sixth-seed team was no match for the Atlanta Dream, Las Vegas Aces, and probably the Phoenix Mercury in the final, according to many analysts. But Stephanie White’s team proved them wrong. Sophie Cunningham even mentioned that the league would be angry with the Fever team’s progress.
Now with a win away from the final, excited Cunningham shared a post hyping up her team. The injured member supported the team in every game, and now her post shows her real feelings for the Fever side.
Sophie Cunningham Hypes Up Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever’s ‘Bench mob’ became famous as they jeered and cheered the team’s every play, at home court and even at an away court. One of the viral incidents included Caitlin Clark showing ‘W’ to Atlanta Dream fans as the Fever won the series.

Cunningham is also not left behind. She also never misses a chance to show her support to players on the court, and even after the game, pinpoints the key aspects of the match-up. She, too, famously stood on the Atlanta Dream court when Odyssey Sims had a hard fall. Now, a win against the number 2 seed Las Vegas Aces, and a chance to advance to the finals, calls for special celebrations, and the former Maryland player just delivered it.
Sharing her emotion on ‘X’, she simply wrote, “this team>” two words and a sign indicating the Fever are better than anyone else. Keeping the other side of the sign blank would be a bold statement, but that’s the feeling Cunningham had for her team.

On Instagram, she reposted the Indiana Fever’s update on her storyline, leaving no medium untouched. But she was not only cheering the win; she took it a step further and countered the narrative against the Fever’s win.
Sophie Cunningham Addresses The Referee’s Foul Calls Claims
The Indiana Fever’s win was an impressive one, but the Las Vegas Aces players and HC Becky Hammon silently criticized the officiating in the game. Fans also shared posts on social media, making a case for ‘poor officiating’ in Game 4. The 29-year-old forward also addressed that point and silenced the critics.
She took one fan post blasting the officiating and supporting for the Fever team, the forward responded, “And it’s about damn time. I honestly thought the refs did a nice job today on both sides!”
Even Tony East, an Indiana Fever reporter, explained why the Fever got more free throws in the game. All said and done, Game 5 between the Aces and Fever will be an interesting fixture with both teams proving their mettle in the series so far.
