Sophie Cunningham is known for her unfiltered takes off the court. While she recently suggested Lauren Betts work more on her game, the 29-year-old star is enjoying her offseason to the fullest. Now, as the new WNBA season is around the corner, there has been some significant noise as to which team Cunningham will be playing for next.
Joining the Indiana Fever last season, Cunningham had an impressive run. One of the main highlights of the season was her close bonding with Caitlin Clark. Surely, this is an exciting piece of news for the fans. As the 29-year-old is not under contract, she is in free agency. Thankfully, Caitlin Clark wants the former Phoenix Mercury back in the team.
Caitlin Clark Endorses Sophie Cunningham For 2026

Last season, Clark and Cunningham could have made a fearsome duo. But injury played spoilsport as the face of the WNBA could play only 13 games. Now, speaking about the current season, the Iowa native said fans must prepare to see many familiar names leave the Indiana Fever. But the one person whom she wants to stay with is the 29-year-old.
Commenting on one of Cunningham’s earlier TikTok videos, Clark wrote, “Time to run it back.”
Thus, with all the signs pointing towards a second successful stint with Indiana, fans would wait with bated breath to see what transpires next.
