Sophie Cunningham Chooses New Sport After WNBA Retirement
The Fever star played in 20 games in the 2025 season for the Indiana Fever and was out of action due to a season-ending injury in September. While she couldn’t join any league due to her rehab, the player tried her hand at other sports, one that she liked the most is Pickleball, and she is considering it as her next venture after retiring from the WNBA.
She also posted on her Instagram story a photo of her holding a pickleball and a pickleball paddle with the caption, “Confirmed. I’d kick [expletive] in this sport, plus my fav part, you get a tan while playing!!”

The seven-year veteran had been very vocal about the CBA discussions and even called the WNBA a ‘laughing stock’ for their actions and offers. But now with the deadline date approaching, the player lost her patience and once again fired shots at the league authorities.
On receiving the WNBA offer at 10 PM, “We got a lot to get into. On the last CBA, the league On the last CBA, the league actually came back to us last night at like 10 pm. Nothing happened with the revenue share. And that is the whole thing we are fighting for.”
The league and PA are yet to close the deal, as fans fear delay or even cancellation of the 2026 season.
