Before entering basketball, Sophie Cunningham played taekwondo, volleyball, and even varsity football. This explains her killer instincts and also her love for football. While the injured player was all in for her college’s football game against their arch rivals, she came across a video of a fan mocking her college team’s arch rivals.
The player was quick to react to the video and asked for a reward for that fan. Incidentally, her wish could come true, as Adidas just listened to her request when Cunningham jokingly commented on Caitlin Clark’s signature logo.
Sophie Cunningham’s Special Request For The Fan
Before joining the WNBA, the 29-year-old star played her college basketball at Missouri. There is no doubt that she was well aware of the college’s rivalry with Kansas.

“This is deeply seated. There’s a lot of hate, and whether it’s been basketball games that we’ve seen or soccer matches or now football games, we know it’s important to the fan base,” Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz said ahead of the game.
This just amplifies the importance of the game and, hence, the act of the fan who made the Fever forward happy. During the game, a Missouri student had a chance to win $25,000 if he made a kick. But the youngster stayed loyal to his college, and instead of trying to make it, he kicked it right toward the KU bench. He then lifted his T-shirt to reveal “F KU” painted on his chest.
There were boos from the opposition and cheers from the Tigers’ side. But the WNBA star looked impressed by his actions and now wants to send him a signed jersey for his ‘class’ act. She shared the video on her social media post and wrote, “who is this legend? need to get him a signed jersey ASAP”

The forward played for Missouri for four seasons and averaged 17 points and five rebounds. Interestingly, the player had already predicted the winner of the game.
Sophie Cunningham Predicted Winner Of Missouri Vs Kansas Game On Her Podcast
While there is no guess for who she chose as a winner, Missouri did well in the game. The game lived up to the hype, as Kansas took a solid 21-6 lead. But the Tigers rallied and got the 42-31 win, making it a memorable encounter for the fans.
“God, I love that s**t. If my knee was good, I’d be jumping around this freaking apartment right now. I’m so pumped for the Border War. God, I hate Kansas. I hate them. I hate them. But inject Mr. Brightside into my damn veins. Oh my God, I’m so hyped,” Cunningham said on the podcast.
Even though she couldn’t enjoy the game as she liked, she enjoyed the Indiana Fever photoshoot on Saturday. Sharing the video on her social media account, Cunningham dropped a three-word reaction which quickly went viral. Fans also showered love on the team and the forward’s ‘witty’ comment.
