The WNBA realm is transforming fast. As recent times have brought a significant boost in viewership and brand deals, athletes are also keen on capitalizing on the exposure they are getting.
And that is why they are venturing outside of the hardwood to establish their brand. A recent example of this is Angel Reese. Reese recently drew heavy praise for her historic Victoria’s Secret appearance. And now, following the same blueprint, Sophie Cunningham, too, is making waves outside of the WNBA.
Recently, she appeared at a NASCAR event with Sydney Sweeney in attendance. And Cunningham has been gushing about her pleasant experience ever since.
Sophie Cunningham Is Elated About Her Meeting With Sydney Sweeney
The Fever star recently made an appearance on her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast. Speaking on her recent experience at the NASCAR Cup Series Championship at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, Cunningham looked utterly thrilled.

Surely, she got the entire NASCAR experience. She got to race a car, attended Jordan Davis’ concert, and also had a meet-and-greet session with the drivers and other VIP guests. Among the VIPs, her meeting with actress Sydney Sweeney was particularly notable.
And the Fever star could not stop reminiscing about her recent experience. “I think those are my people. That’s where I belong,” said Cunningham.

“She’s actually so nice,” Cunningham said of Sweeney. “I think she’s a very nice girl. We just talked for like, I’d say a minute, two minutes, like it was really quick. There was celebrities and VIPs, and so we were all kind of doing our own thing. So it was very quick, like, ‘Hey, how are you? So nice to meet you.’”

Surely, the 29-year-old Fever star seems to be having quite a happening offseason this year. Cunningham recently also made her debut on ‘Good Morning America,’ during her MCL rehab. Meanwhile, as rumors about her stay in Indiana are growing, the 29-year-old gave a hint about her future.
Sophie Cunningham Might Leave Indiana Fever, But Under One Condition
Cunningham has been one of the pivotal parts of the Fever roster this year. However, as of now, she is technically no longer under a contract and has entered free agency. And while the Fever fans are urging her to re-sign, the ‘enforcer’ has some criteria that need to be fulfilled. Currently, she is seeking a long-term, multi-year contract to secure her future.

“I think the next team I play for I want a bigger contract, so I can then buy a house and be homey and cozy,” said Cunningham.
Thus, it is evident that Cunningham is garnering a lot of eyeballs at the moment. Now, it remains to be seen what’s next for her.
