WNBA always prides itself on taking on the social causes and standing united and firm against the negativity or cruelty. Many stars even campaigned for political parties. During the recent election, New York Liberty star Natasha Cloud showed support for Democratic Candidate Zohran Mamdani, who eventually won. And recently, Sophie Cunningham also went viral with her political views.
The star supported the Trump Administration and refused to apologize for her views, finding backing from other celebrities as well.

Sophie Cunningham Stays Firm On Her Political Views
The Fever forward is famous for her strong stands and has been vocal about her views. Recently, she spoke only about the CBA negotiations and blasted franchise owners for the offers. But her recent comments on ongoing actions by the Trump administration went viral, as she supported them, saying they may be strong, but they are good for the country.
U.S. Congressman Brandon Gill’s wife, Danielle D’Souza Gill, hailed the WNBA Stars and wrote, “Basketball star Sophie Cunningham has refused to bash America, instead thanking our veterans. ‘Home of the free because of the brave … Thank you to all those who fought and are still fighting,’ God bless you, Sophie!”

She also posted on her Instagram story a photo of her holding a pickleball and a pickleball paddle with the caption, “Confirmed. I’d kick [expletive] in this sport, plus my fav part, you get a tan while playing!!”
