Sophie Cunningham is nurturing her ACL injury and will play for the upcoming season. The unrestricted free agent for the 2026 season faces a tough reality check as the Indiana Fever lock in Kelsey Mitchell as the top free agency target.
But that isn’t stopping the versatile forward from being close to the franchise and in the offseason openly supported the Indiana teams and players.
Though she is not active on the court, she already signed a contract with Project B for its inaugural season in 2026, ensuring her participation in the new league. Amid this, she is conducting her podcast and also giving interviews. In her recent interview, she opened up about her favorite vacation spot.

Sophie Cunningham Opens Up On Her Preference For Vacation Spot
The 29-year-old forward is very aggressive on the court, looking to win the game for her team. Even in her podcast or interviews, she is very blunt with her answers. Many would expect her preference for a vacation spot to be a happening or crowded place. But the star revealed her choice, which is completely opposite to fans’ imagination.
“I haven’t done this in probably a couple of years, but my favourite place would be either on a lake, in the ocean, on a boat with my friends, family, relaxing, drinks flowing,” Cunningham said in an exclusive interview. She already mentioned her love for the lakes and other water bodies where she can sail.

Earlier in the offseason, the player opened up about fans’ perception of players and how they might be different off the court in reality. Well, it seems that the same applies to the former Mercury star as well, as she chose a quieter place, with her friends and family, and also disconnected from the world.
Interestingly, she found a perfect sponsorship partner that complements her dream vacation destinations, and the star also agrees with the same.
Sophie Cunningham Signs New Deal With Sun Cruiser
Early in the offseason, the former Missouri star struck a partnership with Arby’s, which then led to her appearance on the Good Morning America show, fulfilling her one dream. Fans loved Cunningham’s performance at GMA behind the desk. Now the star landed a sponsorship from Su Cruser, which goes perfectly with her dream vacation destination.
“That’s why with Sun Cruiser I’m like, come on, bring it on,” Cunningham added to her vacation narration. Sun Cruiser is a hard tea that consists of real iced tea and real vodka, and SC is their first athlete sponsorship. The brand comes in different flavors, including Classic Iced Tea, Peach Iced Tea, Raspberry Iced Tea, Lemonade + Iced Tea, Lemonade, Pink Lemonade, and Strawberry Lemonade.

Sun Cruiser’s senior brand director, Erica Taylor, reacts to the addition of Cunningham’s name to the brand and said, “This partnership is all about embracing chill time. Sophie is known for her fierce competitiveness on the court and her unfiltered, fun-loving personality off it, making her the perfect partner to champion the art of the unwind. We’re excited to sponsor her off-season and show that the best athletes know how to balance the grind with the good times.”
Since joining the Indiana Fever, the talented forward has gotten multiple sponsors, proving a profitable partnership on the court as well.
