Indiana Fever is looking like a well oiled machine at the moment. Despite missing the services of Caitlin Clark, the team has managed well. As different athletes are stepping up every day, Fever has currently won 3 games on the trot. And their latest triumph came against the Phoenix Mercury.
Putting up a score of 107-101, it was Aari McDonald who emerged as the hero. She dropped career-best figures of 27 points. However, despite multiple athletes chipping in, one name has stood out. And that is none other than Sophie Cunningham.
Sophie Cunningham Drops Bold Prediction About Indiana Fever
Sophie Cunningham has been on fire lately. Apart from her physical presence on the court, Cunningham’s performance has been quite stellar. In all five games that Caitlin Clark has missed, Cunningham has featured as a starter. And much to the fans’ delight, she has dropped double-digit points in the last seven out of eight games.
Owing to her dominance, Cunningham’s co-host, West Wilson, asked her an interesting question. Wilson asked Cunningham whether she was the second-best shooter on the team after Clark. While Cunningham did not answer definitively, she did praise her team’s offensive prowess.
“I think that’s the cool thing about our team is we have a lot of great shooters. But we all, you know, the highs and lows of season. Everyone goes through that,” said Cunningham on an episode of the ‘Show Me Something’ podcast.
"This is a really unique and special team, and the locker room, we really do love each other."

Surely, Cunningham did not agree to Wilson’s compliment. But she also sounded confident about being one of the best. Meanwhile, as Cunningham makes merry, she is also quite actively defending Caitlin Clark’s position as the face of the WNBA.

Sophie Cunningham Lashes Out At Caitlin Clark’s Critics
Owing to Caitlin Clark’s timid run this season, a lot of criticism has popped up. Clark has been referred to as overhyped on multiple occasions. In fact, the Rookie of the Year has also been doubted about her ‘Face of the WNBA’ title. And this is where Sophie Cunningham thinks that it’s a bit of a stretch. Speaking on the topic, Cunningham stated how Clark has revived the WNBA.

“We have a lot of bad as—s in our league, like hell yeah to that — I’m all for that. But when people try to argue she’s not the face of our league or our league would be where we’re at without her, you’re dumb as s–t. You’re literally dumb as f—k,” Cunningham said.
Thus, with Cunningham creating quite the buzz, fans now cannot wait to see what happens next.
