Most of WNBA stars are either playing basketball at Unrivaled, EuroLeague or AU leagues, only one player is on the NASCAR race track more than usual. Earlier in November, Sophie Cunningham & Sydney Sweeney stole the show at the NASCAR Cup Series Championship in Phoenix. Now that the race was in Atlanta, the WNBA star once again got the chance to attend the event.
In Phoenix, the player was a VIP guest at the event and even drove a car, giving a head start to the race as the Pace Car Driver. In Atlanta, though, the player came to support one of the racers.

Sophie Cunningham Attends NASCAR Event With Arby’s
After her Phoenix visit, the 6-foot star joked about the height of racers on her ‘Show Me Something’ podcast, though it was light-hearted fun from the Fever forward, she was once again at a NASCAR race event.
In the Pre-race interview, the WNBA Star said, “This is my third NASCAR event. I feel like these are my people, this is where I belong. So they asked if we wanted to come out to Atlanta, Georgia, and I was like, ‘Say less, clear my schedule, let’s go watch it and support Carson.” Cunningham said.

During the offseason, Cunningham attended multiple sorting events, including a Golf tournament with Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull, and NBA games. She even conducted a training camp and had all her sponsors at the three-day event.

On the WNBA front, though, the player is facing uncertainty about her future with the Fever side, but she even expressed uncertainty over the 2026 season, too.

Active on social media, the 30-year-old star handed fans a chance to ask questions to get to know her better. She answered many of those questions in her witty tone. In one of the questions, a fan asked the versatile player about her 2026 team.
The player took the opportunity to slam the CBA negotiations and wrote, “waiting to see if we will even have a season.”She shared the same on her Instagram stories, giving it extra weight.

The current CBA situation is not very encouraging either, but the WNBA and WNBPA agreed on a few points, which is a positive sign for fans.
