Just in case one’s wondering what happens when a fan gets bold enough to beg Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull to re-sign with the Indiana Fever right in front of Caitlin Clark? The answer is nothing much, but a five-word sentence was enough.
Recently, when a shouting fan was all over stealing the spotlight from the WNBA ladies, the Fever guard didn’t hold back. Cunningham fired off a subtle yet sharp zinger to send the fan to his place at the Annika Pro-Am.

The WNBA is currently a mess. And there’s no point hiding it at this point. And the recent showing alongside her Indiana teammate, Cunningham got a stage to channel her frustration with the CBA dilemma.

The stakes couldn’t be higher with free agency looming and CBA talks teetering on the edge of a work stoppage. So the fan wanted to make something out of it when he enquired when Sophie and Hull are signing back for the Indianapolis-based team.
“Tell them to pay us,” Cunningham told the fan straight away.
