Reggie Miller compared Caitlin Clark to Payton Prichard during the pre-game show on the NBC network. The base of his comparison was to highlight the clutch-ness of both stars. Former Celtics star Paul Pierce, a fellow NBA star, corrected him in his analysis.
Sophie Cunningham, though, seems to partly agree with the comparison, not with the name of the player, but with the trait used for comparison. She feels her Fever teammate is the most clutch player, as her recent answer suggests.

Sophie Cunningham Sees Caitlin Clark As Clutch
The guard-forward duo shares a great relationship, publicly poking fun at each other and still backing each other during criticism or a bad game. Clark also put the Indiana Fever franchise on alert, silently demanding Cunningham’s re-signing in the offseason.
The versatile forward had also shown support for the playmaker on multiple occasions and, recently, answered a question, highlighting her trust in the former Iowa star. When an interviewer asked Cunningham which player she would choose if they had to make a three-pointer with her life on the line. “I’ll go CC. I’ll give it to her,” Cunningham said with a subtle nod.

It’s nothing but a vote of confidence, from Fever forward, who played with the star for one season and experienced her clutch plays for four to six years, adding CC’s college career. In her other fun answers, she chose Kayla McBride to play in the three-point contest at the NBA and Kelsey Mitchell to handle her social media account.

Caitlin Clark Earns Team USA Call
After playing only a few games in the 2025 season, the playmaker worked hard to get back to 100% fitness. She was part of the Team USA training camp for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers. On February 11, the management released the names of participants from the camp, which includes a number of young stars, including the 2024 WNBA rookie.

Clark won three gold medals while competing internationally at the 2017 FIBA Under-16 Women’s Americas Championship in Argentina, the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Thailand, and the 2021 FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Hungary. She even won the MVP Award in those runs, making her a standout player.
