The Indiana Fever might have wrapped up their season on a high note, but the players are certainly keeping up the tempo and bringing it on the court and sometimes off the court. Sophie Cunningham recently attended the Pacers game at the Gainbridge Arena with Tyrese Haliburton’s girlfriend, Jade Jones. While the Pacers lost the close game, the player kept a high spirit on the sidelines.
While she had been doing this for the Fever team since her season-ending injury, the player also attended the Pacers’ foundation’s charity dinner. Fans reacted to her actions at the event.
Fans React To Sophie Cunningham’s Charity Dinner
Ever since the former Mercury star joined the Indiana team, her gameplay, ‘’enforcer’ attitude, and energetic presence attracted many Fever fans. But very few knew about her sweet and gentle side, which emerged during the charity Dinner – Aaron Nesmith’s Come To Our House Dinner.

The Indiana Fever shared a video of the forward serving food to the guests and having a nice chat with everyone. At one moment, she said, “This is what we’re here for. We’re here for you.”

While the Fever fans already declared their preference in the free agency, the Indiana Fever has also sorted their priorities as GM Amber Cox hinted at re-signing Kelsey Mitchell. This somewhat puts the former Missouri star’s situation in question, especially with her plan for the next franchise.
Sophie Cunningham Faces Tough Reality Check With Indiana Fever’s Free Agency Preferences
The current pool of WNBA free agents is full of superstars. With the CBA situation still unresolved, many players have already signed contracts that align with the 2025 free agency. This gives many franchises a chance to sign former champions or All-Stars early. Sadly, the 29-year-old forward is neither an All-Star nor a champion yet.

Moreover, as mentioned earlier, the Fever is looking to retain Kelsey Mitchell, who is expected to attract a supermax contract, leaving the Fever with limited resources for the rest of the roster. Cunningham hinted at a lavish multi-year contract with her next franchise so that she could have security.
Both conditions currently seem out of hand for the Fever team. Yet there is one glimmer of hope for the fans as Caitlin Clark personally requested Sophie Cunningham to re-sign. Considering her connection with SC and star power, Fever might work out a ‘special package’ for the versatile star. But all this can be done only after CBA confirmation.
