The Indiana Fever witnessed a rather difficult season this year. Despite Caitlin Clark’s positive injury update, she mostly struggled throughout this WNBA season.
Recently, coach Stephanie White revealed Clark’s competitiveness. While detailing it, she called the Fever star psycho.
In a season full of expectations and setbacks for the Indiana Fever, White’s words offered one of the clearest insights yet into Clark’s mindset.

Caitlin Clark’s Competitiveness Is “Psycho” As Per Stephanie White
While the overall narrative might confuse her loyal fanbase, White didn’t use “psycho” as an insult for Clark. Instead, she used it to capture the kind of fire and relentlessness Clark brings.
In her own words, Clark’s approach is “relentless”, pointing to a player who pushes herself, pushes for every opportunity, and refuses to back down, even when the spotlight is heavy.
“It was very important [to forge a relationship with Clark]. Look, she is obviously the centerpiece of everything that we do. And most importantly for me, was just connecting and building trust… I’m not sure, myself, as a 23-year-old, would have been able to handle it that way that she does,” White said.

While praising her grit, coach White put her most confident player right up to her level and kept on praising her.
“I’m also the same like of psycho she is, in terms of competitiveness. Now, it comes out in different ways. But we both just really want to win, and we want to set ourselves and our teammates up for success,” White added.
According to White, Clark arrives at practice ready to work, studies film with seriousness, and demands excellence, be it from herself or from everyone around her.

Amid the praise for Clark’s mindset, White also faced criticism. Some believe her handling of Clark’s shot selection may have hindered rather than helped.
Certain reports have accused White of “ruining” Clark’s shot, suggesting her coaching style or strategic choices might have disrupted the natural rhythm or confidence of the young guard.
