The memories of the 2025 season are still fresh in the Fever fans’ minds as the franchise did exceedingly well in the season despite missing many key players at key moments of the season. The team won the Commissioner’s Cup title and also stretched the eventual winners to a five-game series. Coach Stephanie White was one of the candidates for the Coach of the Year accolade for her work with the Indiana Team.
But it’s time now to focus on the upcoming challenges, and the front office navigated well through the challenging offseason phase, retaining the core and adding some depth to the roster. While the Fever roster is amongst the top five starting line-ups in the 2026 season at the moment, the coach recently opened up on the roster building for the championship contention.

Stephanie White Opens Up On 2026 Indiana Fever Roster Building
After a near miss in the 2025 season, the Fever side is once again a top contender for the title with their shrewd roster build-up. The side signed Kelsey Mitchell to a one-year Supermax contract and added Lexie Hull, Monique Billing, and Sophie Cunningham in the free agency.
Talking about the roster, White said, “Everything had to get together in the period of 10 days. Thank goodness I don’t have to do it; the GM does, trying to figure out the numbers and trying to build a team from that standpoint. And now we have three days to prepare for training camps. It’s been challenging in those ways; it’s been an unnecessary challenge.”

The 2025 championship dream was shattered with the absence of the team’s prolific playmaker and scorer. Although the rest of the team did well without CC on the floor, the coach is not taking any chances with her superstar at the moment.
Speaking on the podcast, she said, “We also want to be smart. She doesn’t need every rep in practice. We want to continue to ramp her up. It’s a long season, 44 games, and we play a heavy cadence of games in a week.”
