Teams playing against the Chicago Sky are worried about their twin-towers near the rim – Angel Reese and Kamila Cardoso. In the 2025 season, the team had them on the floor for a limited time due to injuries and international duties keeping either star away from the court. This hampered their season record.
Hosting arch rivals, the Indiana Fever, on July 27 at the United Center was a chance to see them together once again, but the Chi-Town Barbie sat out following a back injury. Despite her absence, the Fever coach gave her deserved flowers in the pre-game interview.
Stephanie White Praises Angel Reese
The game moved to the United Center, anticipating a massive crowd for the Ar5 vs. Caitlin Clark rivalries. Sadly, both players missed the game due to their respective injuries. Stephanie White learned about the Sky forward’s absence during a pre-game interview. The two-time All-Star again leads the league in rebounding for the second season. She smiled and reacted to the news in the media.
“It doesn’t really change the strategy. We prepare for Angel when she’s on the floor. We know that she is the best rebounder in this league. The way that they utilize her in that point forward position sometimes creates some challenges. They also have capable players with size and rebounding ability off the bench. They don’t utilize those players in the same way that they utilize Angel, but nonetheless, they have great size, great ability to crash the glass, and they’re one of the best rebounding teams in our league,” White told the media (Via X/Brian_Haenchen).

The 23-year-old broke multiple records with her series of double-double performances. While her move slightly away from the rim allowed Cardoso to take control of the paint region, the former LSU star racked up more assists and shot better in her new position.
In her absence, Kelsey Mitchell and Co. recorded a stunning 93-78 win, with the guard registering a career-high 35 points.
