Multiple reports hinted at Caitlin Clark’s possible return after the guard’s recent practice video surfaced on social media. She participated in a shootaround before the game against the Seattle Storm. As an ESPN reporter predicted a month ago, the former Iowa star was ready for her ‘third return’ in the league, and fans at the Gainbridge Arena were excited for the same.
But in the pregame interview, HC Stephanie White announced the ‘same starting 5’ for the game. Obviously, the next question was an update about Clark’s return, to which White put ahead a few expectations.
Stephanie White Highlights Her Expectations For Caitlin Clark
Fans are getting restless. There is a massive pressure on the Indiana Fever team to win most of the remaining schedule. Expectations and demand to bring back the 2024 Rookie of the Year also started to emerge. But the 48-year-old coach set some expectations over her superstar player’s possible return.

“I want to see her in practice, live in practice. I want to see her continue to work to not just build endurance, but to be able to handle contact 94 feet as it’s going to be in-game, and to be able to do that and sustain it from an endurance standpoint, and that’s going to take multiple practices to make sure that there’s no regression. As most of us know, when we get fatigued, we look different, and see how she plays through fatigue,” HC white said in the interview.
Tight schedule is the ‘burning issue’ in the league. It also exhausted Fever players with back-to-back games. The Chicago Sky head coach, Tyler Marsh, also called it ‘unfair on the player’, slamming the league scheduling. With respect to that, it’s very much understandable to see the head coach demanding a lot from Caitlin Clark.

Even though the Indiana Fever are still title contenders, without Clark in the rotation, the 23-year-old rookie is also working hard to get back to her previous form, which will help her side sail through tougher playoff series or even the remaining regular-season games. Between her rehab workouts, the player also finds time for off-court commitments.

The star missed over half of the regular season but maintained a massive fan following with her off-court activities and support of her team. Amid her injury recovery phase, Nike confirmed that the Fever superstar’s signature shoes will be available from 2026.
Ahead of entering the market, Nike and Clark released their signature logos. This logo will be on every piece of apparel associated with the player. The logo-adorned apparel will be available starting in September.
