Stephanie White had been the bearer of bad news regarding Caitlin Clark throughout the season. With the fans looking for clarity, White brought grim news for the Fever fans. Initially, fans expected Clark to make a full recovery and come back in 2025. However, despite her best efforts, her injury did not heal in time.
Now, as the season has concluded, Clark has gone back to making her recovery a priority. And as the star is expected to take the lead next season, White has recently provided a week-by-week update on her recovery plan.
Stephanie White Wants To Take Things Slow As Caitlin Clark Recovers
After a long and frustrating period of delivering grim updates, White finally has some good news to share. In a recent episode of a Fever Insider podcast, White stated that Clark is making some serious progress on her return. According to the Fever star, the 23-year-old is still not playing 5-on-5. However, she is actively working on the 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 situations.

“We have the ability to right now take it on week-by-week basis, doing some 3-on-3, doing some 2-on-2, building into 5-on-5. Her being able to play in game-like situations is going to be important. It’s been a long time building back into that, but it is October, and she needs to be able to slowly build back so, from an endurance standpoint, she’s laying a really good foundation so she’s not having any setbacks or any regression,” said White.

Stephanie White Provided A Long-Term Viewpoint Update On Caitlin Clark’s Injury
White did reveal Clark’s key role during her injury period. And with the Fever reaching the playoffs this season, fans once again became interested in Clark’s possible return timeline. Speaking on the situation back in early September this year, White pointed out that the Fever star did participate in 5-on-0 training. This drill usually focuses on safe shooting with no physical contact.

“That’s the hope. She’s working as hard as she can to make sure that she is coming back or is capable of coming back. I think that the long-term viewpoint of her health and wellness is the most important thing,” HC White told reporters.
Thus, it is evident that the Indiana Fever is willing to give Clark as much time as possible to heal. After all, they would not like to play another season without their best asset.
