Before taking control of Team USA basketball, Sue Bird built a legacy as a point ‘god’ in the WNBA. During her jersey retirement ceremony, the UConn Huskies’ coach Geno Auriemma called her the greatest point guard ever. While the player remained one of the iconic figures in the basketball world, soccer fans also showered love on her in her relationship with another athletic great, Megan Rapinoe.
The pair had been dating for 10 years and now shocked fans with their separation news. The power couple spoke about the decision on their podcast – A Touch More.

Sue Bird And Megan Rapinoe Split
Engaged in 2020, the duo never got married but have been in a relationship since the 2016 Rio Olympics. Completing a decade, they mutually decided to part ways and announced the same in the latest episode of their ‘A Touch More’ Podcast.
Rapinoe said, “I hope you all know we put a lot of thought and care into this. It’s a decision that we made together. We’re still going to be there for all of you and for each other. It’s just going to look and feel a little bit different.”

“We have shared so much of our life, so much of our relationship with you, so that’s why we wanted to come on here and share this, too,” Bird said. “These past 10 years have given us so much, and launching this podcast and sharing this space has been one of our favorite things that we’ve done together.”
While the duo announced the closing of the podcast along with their separation, Sue Bird already runs the ‘Bird’s Eye View’ podcast, while Rapinoe would start a new podcast. Also, the USA Basketball managing director will still be covering her sport via a broadcast network.
