Injuries have hurt the teams in the WNBA. The Indiana Fever suffered the heaviest loss, losing three players for the remainder of the season, and there is no positive update on star guard Caitlin Clark. Other teams have at most two players out for a season. But players out of the rotation, like Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham, are showing their support for the Fever team via social media or appearances in the practice session or games.
While the Indiana Fever relied heavily on the hardship contract players due to injuries, such support means a lot to those who are representing the team on the court. But a few fans found it clingy. Colson hit back at one such fan who commented on her post.
Sydney Colson Slams Troll For ‘Karen’ Comment
When the Indiana Fever won against the Connecticut Sun, HC Stephanie White’s emotional locker room speech went viral. The moment was special for her, considering the team’s recent struggles. Yet fans trolled White for showing emotion after a win over a weak team.

While sometimes a few fans could be ‘inconsiderate’, players or coaches could also lose their patience. The 36-year-old Fever guard also felt ‘unjust’ over a comment on her post. She decided to hit back at the troller, Ciara.
“Ciara. Shut up and 1-2 step outta my mentions. I’m the same I’ve always been & so are you, oddly enough, bc clearly you’re still too dumb to read text and know what sarcasm is.” Colson replied to a comment.

The communication started with the veteran guard bashing referees for not getting foul calls for Kelsey Mitchell. A fan, Ciara, felt that this had become a trademark for the Indiana Fever players and coaches to target the officials. She called Sydney Colson, Stephanie White, and Sophie Cunningham ‘Karen’. This term is used for a woman who acts entitled towards others.
The fan commented, “Something about joining the Indiana Fever and becoming a Karen. SYD, Steph White, and Cunningham have all changed their tune since joining The Fever. Stop allat!!”
The experienced guard felt offended by the comment and reacted to it.
Sydney Colson Showing Up For Indiana Fever
Despite the leg injury keeping her out of the action, the two-time champion showed her love and support to the team. Apart from her posts, she was even present in person during the tunnel walk. She walked with the team on crutches and returned to the locker room. The players were visibly happy to see her with the team and joining in, even with the leg injury.

She even attended the practice session from the sidelines when the franchise added five players from the Special Olympics. Injured Caitlin Clark and Aari McDonald were also present for the moment. Clark even shared a post welcoming the new additions.
Looking at the bond and connection between the Fever players, it will be rude to call anyone ‘Karen’ to be fair.
