Arike Ogunbowale was born on March 2, 1997, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up in a Nigerian-American family and developed her basketball skills from a young age.

She attended Notre Dame, where she became a college basketball legend. In the 2018 NCAA Women’s Tournament, Ogunbowale hit two of the most iconic game-winning shots in history — one in the semifinal against UConn and another in the championship game against Mississippi State, securing the national title for Notre Dame.

During her college career, she finished as Notre Dame’s all-time leading scorer with 2,626 points.

WNBA Career

Arike Ogunbowale was drafted 5th overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. She immediately made an impact, averaging 19.1 points per game as a rookie and earning a spot on the WNBA All-Rookie Team.
