Born on November 19, 2002 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Aziaha starred at Princess Anne High School, where she led her team to four straight state titles and earned Virginia High School League Class 5 Player of the Year honors. Rated a four-star recruit, she was a top prospect nationally thanks to her scoring instincts and leadership.
James’s game flourished at NC State (2021–2025). In her senior year, she averaged 17.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, shooting efficiently from the field and beyond the arc. She finished among NC State’s top 15 in multiple categories, including 1,589 points and 184 three-pointers made.
