Chelsea Gray is an American professional basketball player in the WNBA, widely recognized as one of the best point guards of her generation. Nicknamed the “Point Gawd” for her elite passing, court vision, and clutch shot-making, Gray has built a championship career with the Las Vegas Aces and previously with the Los Angeles Sparks. She is a WNBA Champion, Finals MVP, and Olympic gold medalist who continues to define excellence at the guard position.

Chelsea Gray’s Early Life

Chelsea Gray was born on October 21, 1992, in Hayward, California, and raised in Manteca. She attended St. Mary’s High School, where she emerged as a McDonald’s All-American and one of the top recruits in the country. Her natural playmaking ability and leadership made her a standout early on.

Chelsea Gray’s College Career at Duke

Gray played college basketball at Duke University (2010–2014), where she established herself as one of the premier guards in the nation. Despite suffering two serious knee injuries during her career, she displayed resilience and leadership, averaging 12.5 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game across her Duke tenure. Her toughness and ability to perform under pressure laid the foundation for her professional success.

WNBA Career of Chelsea

Chelsea Gray was drafted 11th overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun, but injuries delayed her debut until 2015. In 2016, she was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks, where she quickly became a central piece of their championship run, helping the Sparks win the 2016 WNBA Championship.

Gray’s career reached new heights after joining the Las Vegas Aces in 2021. She led the team to back-to-back WNBA titles in 2022 and 2023, earning WNBA Finals MVP in 2022 for her incredible performances in clutch moments. She has been a five-time WNBA All-Star and is widely respected as one of the most intelligent and composed floor generals in the league.

In addition to her WNBA career, Gray has played overseas in Turkey and Spain and represented Team USA, winning Olympic Gold in Tokyo 2020.
