Diana Taurasi was born on June 11, 1982, in Glendale, California, to an Italian-Argentine family. She grew up in Chino, California, where her basketball talent stood out from a young age.
She attended the University of Connecticut (2000–2004) under legendary coach Geno Auriemma. Taurasi quickly became the Huskies’ leader and one of the most decorated players in NCAA history:
