Early Life

Jordin Canada was born on August 11, 1995, in Los Angeles, California. She attended Windward School, where she earned national recognition as a five-star recruit and was named a McDonald’s All-American in 2014.

She went on to play college basketball at UCLA (2014–2018), where she became one of the greatest players in program history. Canada finished her collegiate career as UCLA’s all-time leader in assists (831) and steals (347), while also scoring over 2,000 career points. She was named to multiple All-Pac-12 First Teams and led the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in 2018.

WNBA Career

Canada was drafted 5th overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft by the Seattle Storm.

  • Rookie Season (2018): Served as a backup to Sue Bird but made an immediate defensive impact, helping the Storm win the 2018 WNBA Championship.

  • 2019 Season: Stepped into the starting role when Bird was sidelined, averaging 9.8 points, 5.2 assists, and 2.3 steals per game, showcasing her ability to run an offense.

  • 2020 Season: Won her second championship with the Storm in the “Wubble” season.

  • Los Angeles Sparks (2022–present): Returned to her hometown to play for the Sparks, where she continues to be a key starter and leader. In 2023, she averaged 13.3 points, 6.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, proving herself as one of the league’s most effective two-way guards.
