Early Life

Juju Watkins was born on July 15, 2005, in Los Angeles, California. She grew up in the Watts neighborhood and started playing basketball at a young age, quickly becoming one of the top players in the country.

She attended Sierra Canyon High School, where she became a national sensation. During her high school career, Watkins won the 2023 Gatorade National Player of the Year award, was named a McDonald’s All-American, and also earned the Naismith High School Player of the Year award.

Her decision to stay home and play for USC was one of the biggest recruiting wins in recent memory. She joined a historic program with hopes of bringing the Trojans back into national championship contention.

College Career (USC)

Juju Watkins started her college basketball career in 2023 with the University of Southern California Trojans.

  • Freshman Year (2023–24): Watkins averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, quickly becoming one of the most dominant scorers in NCAA women’s basketball.

  • She broke several USC freshman records, including most points scored in a debut season.
