Early Life & College Career
Mitchell was born on November 12, 1995, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She grew up in a basketball family, with her twin sister Chelsea also playing at Ohio State.
At Ohio State University (2014–2018), Mitchell had a legendary college career. She became the second all-time leading scorer in NCAA women’s basketball history with 3,402 points, averaging 24.5 points per game across four seasons. She also set the NCAA record for most three-pointers made (497). Mitchell was a three-time Big Ten Player of the Year and a four-time All-American.
WNBA Career
The Indiana Fever selected Mitchell 2nd overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft. As a rookie, she averaged 12.7 points per game, immediately showing her scoring potential.
By 2020, she established herself as one of the league’s best perimeter shooters, averaging 17.9 points per game. In 2022, Mitchell had her career-best season, scoring 18.4 points per game while shooting 40% from three, placing her among the league’s top scorers.
She has consistently been Indiana’s leading scorer and is a cornerstone as the team continues rebuilding with young talent, including Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.
