Early Life

Kyra Lambert was born on September 24, 1996, in Cibolo, Texas. She attended Steele High School, where she became one of the top guards in her recruiting class. Lambert was a McDonald’s All-American nominee and ranked among the top 10 guards in the country.

Her success earned her a scholarship to Duke University, where she began her college basketball career in 2015.

College Career

  • Duke University (2015–2020): Lambert had a promising start, earning ACC All-Freshman honors in 2016. Unfortunately, she suffered a serious knee injury during the 2017 NCAA Tournament that required multiple surgeries, sidelining her for nearly two full seasons. She returned to the court in 2019–20, showing her resilience and determination.

  • Texas Longhorns (2020–2021): Using her final year of eligibility, Lambert transferred to Texas as a graduate student. She started in 26 games, averaging 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game, helping the Longhorns reach the Elite Eight of the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

Professional Career

After college, Lambert pursued professional opportunities, including playing overseas. While she has not had a consistent WNBA career, her leadership, defensive skills, and experience at two major college programs have kept her active in professional basketball circuits.
