Born on July 13, 1992, in Irving, Texas, Sims was a McDonald’s All-American and the nation’s top point guard recruit. At Baylor (2010–2014), she was the USBWA National Freshman of the Year (2011), won the NCAA Championship in 2012, and in 2014 earned top honors—Big 12 Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Nancy Lieberman Award, Wade Trophy, and first-team All-America recognition. She was just inducted into the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame in 2024.
